Pacific Rim Oenology Services provides laboratory analysis, products for labs and product additives
to companies in a range of industries from across New Zealand.
Established in 1992, the team at PROS are based in the beautiful Marlborough region.
With nearly 30 years of service in the New Zealand wine industry, PROS has now evolved and diversified to provide a wide range of services and products to all facets of the market; including beers, ciders, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages.
Rebecca Allen moved from employee to owner at Pacific Rim in 2017, when she was presented with the unique opportunity to move the company forward under her direction. Under her leadership, the small but mighty team has built a comprehensive network of clients and customers across New Zealand, providing them with essential products, services and problem-solving advice for the betterment of their businesses.

REBECCA ALLEN - Director/Owner
Owner and Director of Pacific Rim since 2017, Rebecca is the driving force of team PROS. An Otago girl, she was lured to Marlborough by laboratory work and never left. With 16 years at Pacific Rim she brings a knowledge of customers and the wine industry as well as all things Laboratory.
When not working much of Rebecca’s time is spent taxiing her teenagers to activities.

ANNE MCKENZIE - Laboratory Technician
Born in the Waikato, Anne gained extensive laboratory experience in the dairy industry before being tempted south by the sunny weather and quality wines. Working across the wine industry in various positions from vineyard to lab, Anne has a breadth of knowledge in all things wine. A Pacific Rim team member for a decade, Anne is the go-to technician for testing and chemical preparation.
In her spare time Anne enjoys the great outdoors, family time and coffee by day but a wine by night.

SHIRLEY BATTERSBY - Customer Services Administrator
The friendly face that will greet you if you pop in to see us, Shirley has been with Pacific Rim since 2018. Another local who has stayed in sunny Marlborough, Shirley has had customer service roles in a variety of industries from tourism to retail and brings to Pacific Rim her extensive knowledge.
Shirley, a keen chardonnay connoisseur, enjoys being out walking on the weekend with her dog.

LAURA MITCHELL - Laboratory Manager
As a Marlborough local growing up surrounded by the wine industry, Laura studied microbiology at Otago University before returning home to take part in her first vintage at a local winery. She then used her microbiology skillset to work for a commercial testing lab, testing food and water samples before jumping ship back to wine testing. Joining Pacific Rim in 2020, she has stepped into the Lab Manager role to oversee lab operations, while also keeping a close eye on IANZ requirements to uphold Pacific Rim’s accreditation status.
Laura is a F45 regular, enjoys a weekend hike and sharing a good bottle of wine with family and friends.
